Building a Better Live Oak / Smart Growth
At a Glance
-
Support local businesses and responsible development -
Improve infrastructure, parks and beautification -
Create more recreation, sports and family events
I want Live Oak to be a city people are proud to call home. That means supporting the businesses already here, attracting responsible new investment and improving the everyday appearance and quality of life in our community.
Smart growth should bring more services, restaurants, jobs and opportunities to Live Oak without taking away the small town character that makes our city special. New development should be thoughtful, meet the needs of the community and contribute toward the infrastructure and services it requires.
Building a better Live Oak also means taking care of what we already have. We need continued improvements to roads, sidewalks, parks, public spaces and neighborhood appearance. Clean entrances, maintained landscaping, attractive public spaces and a stronger sense of community pride can change how residents, visitors and potential businesses see our city.
As a father, I also want more reasons for families to spend time together here in Live Oak. That can include sports, recreation, youth activities, festivals, markets and better use of our parks and public spaces. We should create more opportunities that bring residents together and make Live Oak feel like a community, not just a place people drive through.
